La tradizione popolare inglese ci propone molti canti natalizi come “The First Noel”, un canto molto antico databile tra il XVI e il XVII secolo (ma forse anche più antico). Il testo è di contenuto religioso e parla della nascita di Gesù, dall’annuncio ai pastori all’arrivo dei Re Magi. Il primo Natale, quindi, a cui fa riferimento il titolo (The First Noel) è evidentemente proprio il giorno della Natività.
